Everence Federal Credit Union has two types of checking accounts available for individual members:
Our regular checking account has no monthly fees, unlimited check writing, and requires no minimum balance. We offer automatic overdraft protection from your savings account (one time per month with no charge). The only cost to you is each order of personalized checks.
Our dividend checking account also has unlimited check writing with monthly dividends at competitive rates. Average daily balance needs to be above $1,000 or a monthly fee will apply. Automatic overdraft protection from shares (one time per month with no charge). You pay for each order of personalized checks.
Everence Federal Credit Union will also pay for items presented against your checking account, even if paying the item causes the account to become overdrawn. However, there are fees associated with this service. Courtesy pay comes automatically with our checking accounts, but you can opt out of the service if you wish.
Opening a checking account
To open a Everence Federal Credit Union checking account, either regular or dividend, stop by or call one of our offices. You can also send us an e-mail. We will send you an account change card to sign, which you return to us along with your first deposit into your checking account.
If you need to refill your checkbook, call or visit your local branch office to place your first order with Deluxe. After your initial order has been placed with Deluxe, check reorders can be made at Deluxe Corp.
If you receive regular checks for Social Security or other federal benefit payments, there is an easy, and safe way to deposit them into your Everence Federal Credit Union account, with Go Direct.
Everence Federal Credit Union is a Community Ambassador for Go Direct, which encourages those who receive federal benefit checks such as Social Security, Supplemental Security Income (SSI), and pensions through the mail, to set up a direct deposit of the checks. If you are receiving a monthly paper check, why not choose direct deposit? It gives you quicker and better control of your funds.
Everence Federal Credit Union can make your transition easier. Log on to Go Direct today to learn more, or call your local branch office for assistance. Go Direct is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Treasury and the Federal Reserve Banks.
