Northwest Ohio community donates over $1.6 million in one night

People who live and work in Northwest Ohio came together Tuesday, Nov. 27, to celebrate #GivingTuesdayNWO, and their generosity generated over $1.6 million in donations to nonprofits across the country.

“We are so humbled by the many people who helped make our corner of Ohio something truly special,” said Shari Beck, Everence® Financial Advisor and host of #GivingTuesdayNWO.

The event featured local nonprofits including Adriel Foundation, Children’s Lantern, Fulton County Humane Society, Habitat for Humanity of Fulton County, Hannah’s Socks, Northwest State Community College, Revive OhioRock Forward, Sara’s Garden, Sauder Village, Shalom Counseling & Mediation Center, Sufficient Grace Ministries, Sunshine Foundation and Youth for Christ

Gifts had to be made to any 501(c)(3) to receive part of the $500,000 in matching dollars made available by local businesses and individuals. This event, held at Northwest State Community College, was coordinated by Everence as a way to encourage generosity – an Everence core value.
