Information for people who lose their existing group health coverage

You lose your job and your health insurance goes with it. What are your options? If your spouse is eligible for health benefits at his or her job, that might be the first place to look. COBRA continuation coverage may be available also.

If you are a resident of Pennsylvania and have lost your employer-provided ShareNet health coverage and/or exhausted your COBRA continuation coverage, you are eligible for individual conversion policies as required under state law and HIPAA. These individual conversion policy options include: 

    - Individual conversion policies as allowed under state law 
    - HIPAA conversion rights 
    - State-run health insurance programs 
    - Individual health coverage 
    - Associated health plans
