Responsibilities and duties

  • Develop external relationships for the purpose of gaining insight about their mission; identifying opportunities where Everence can serve as a partner in achieving their objectives; sharing relevant components of the Everence story that allows the Consultant to advance the opportunity to serve the prospect/client with Everence products and services.
  • Routinely make referrals to the appropriate Everence area for respective products and services.
  • Update contact activity, meeting notes and related activities in CRM system.
  • Responsible for activities/duties in the market with four metrics for NFPs (see attached) to be used for performance evaluation depending on the focus of the position.

Responsibilities and duties – (with) focus on NFP organizations

  • Responsible for the following activities/duties in the market or an assigned territory or constituent group in service to NFP organizations:
  • Complete a given number of Vine presentations for organizations in a year. 
  • Grow charitable production in a given market.
  • Conduct educational events on charitable strategies and current developments in the field within the market.
  • Carry a small number of charitable individual and organizational account relationships
  • Responsible for the following activities in the market or an assigned territory or constituent group in service to NFP organizations (NFP):
  • Attract, sell and serve individual charitable service clients to grow the charitable accounts and assets under management.
  • Engage and build relationships with NFP organizations and their leadership to provide charitable gift planning services to the NFP and its donors.
  • Coordination of the delivery of charitable gift planning services for donors and prospects across the core market.
  • Cultivate centers of influence (institutional development staff, attorneys, accountants, etc.) as part of overall core market strategy.



  • Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred.
  • Interest in personal and organizational finance is essential.
  • Willing to earn appropriate professional designations, such as) CGPA (Certified Gift Planning Associate, Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP), etc.


  • Five plus years of prior related experience preferred, ideally in the areas of charitable gift planning, fundraising, estate planning, business or sales.
  • Public speaking.
  • Work productively in team settings.


None required; CGPA desired for NFP focus role

Skills and Abilities

  • Proven ability to build relationships of trust; strong networking and verbal and written communications skills.
  • Ability to set and maintain own schedule for optimum effectiveness. Takes initiative, sets priorities and follows through. Good customer service ethic/responsive and follows up.
  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to preach or speak on a variety of topics, as requested, and theological topics with preparation.
  • Team player with Everence internal team and with church and non-profit leaders.
  • Understanding or ability to learn and operate successfully within Christian church denominational and network structures, especially Anabaptist denominations and churches and the faith community; other denominations as appropriate for local market or assignment. Flexibility to accommodate a variety of Christian expressions.
  • Working knowledge of or ability to learn planned giving and gift/fundraising.
  • Experience in and commitment to local congregation and/or broader church leadership, including active involvement in local church.
  • Active involvement in service, professional and civic organizations for NFP focus.
  • Commitment to the stewardship values, vision, and mission of Everence along with a basic understanding of the Anabaptist faith tradition.
  • Ability to travel frequently on a regional basis and overnight as needed on a national basis.
  • Willingness to perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Supervisory responsibility 

No direct supervision.
