Thirteen regional students receive scholarship for 2017-2018 school year

Thirteen regional students have received a $750 scholarship from Everence® to pursue their college degrees. The recipients include:
  • Abigal Burkholder of Ephrata: Abigal will attend Grove City College, Grove City, Pennsylvania
  • Katey Ebaugh of Holtwood: Katey will attend Bluffton University, Bluffton, Ohio
  • Emily Hess of Elizabethtown: Emily will attend Messiah College, Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania
  • Marcus Huber of Manheim: Marcus will attend Temple University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
  • Hannah Hunsberger of Mifflintown: Hannah will attend Penn State University, University Park, Pennsylvania
  • Shayna Landis of Lancaster: Shayna will attend Messiah College, Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania
  • Jenna Lile of Leola: Jenna will attend Eastern Mennonite University, Harrisonburg, Virgnia
  • Madeline Mast of Lancaster: Madeline will attend Eastern Mennonite University, Harrisonburg, Virginia
  • Emily Mattocks of Guys Mills: Emily will attend Cedarville University, Cedarville, Ohio
  • Joanna Niesley of Marietta: Joanna will attend Cedarville University, Cedarville, Ohio
  • Benjamin Stutzman of Lancaster; Benjamin will attend Eastern Mennonite University, Harrisonburg, Virginia
  • Ellis Vogt of Akron: Ellis will attend Marywood University, Lancaster, Pennsylvania
  • Daniel Wogari of Lancaster: Daniel will attend Millersville University, Millersville, Pennsylvania
These students are among 41 recipients of Everence college scholarships for the 2017-2018 academic year. The scholarship program encourages young people to explore the integration of faith and finances while helping them on their educational journeys.

More than 220 students from across the country applied for scholarships for the coming academic year. Recipients were chosen based on leadership, community involvement and responses to an essay question about someone who models the concept of stewardship.

“Helping students continue their education is important to Everence,” said Kenda Mishler, Member Benefits Manager. “We recognize the effort it takes to invest their time and talents in their communities while balancing school and family obligations.”
