Everence employees, members pack 80,000 meals

More than 30 Everence^® employees and Michiana Chapter members packed meals Saturday, Nov. 11, during a Feed My Starving Children mobile pack event at Nappanee Missionary Church.

The Everence group packed 80,000 meals in one hour. The original volunteer time slot was actually shortened because supplies were running low due to more meals being packed than planned.

During the full week that meals were packed, 1,897,344 meal feedings were created to feed 5,198 kids for an entire year!

In addition to packing meals to be sent to children around the world, volunteers could choose a local food pantry to receive a donation from a Michiana Chapter Grant. Food pantries receiving donations from this grant include:

• Church Community Services, Elkhart
• The Window, Goshen
• Middlebury Food Pantry, Middlebury
• Family Christian Development Center, Nappanee
• Community Food Pantry of St. Joseph County, South Bend
