Local students among Everence scholarship winners

Two local students will be receiving help with their college expenses through the Everence scholarship program.

Students from the Souderton area are among the 42 recipients of Everence® college scholarships for the 2018-2019 academic year. The scholastic program encourages young people to explore the integration of faith and finances while helping them on their educational journeys. The local recipients are:

Livia Anderson of Lansdale, Pa., who received a $750 scholarship to pursue a degree at John Hopkins University in Baltimore.

Eszter Bentch of Telford, Pa., who received a $750 scholarship to pursue a degree at Wheaton College in Illinois.

More than 150 students from across the country applied for scholarships – a benefit of being an Everence member – for the coming academic year. Recipients were chosen based on leadership, community involvement and responses to an essay question.

“Everence believes it’s important to support students as they work toward their college degrees,” said Kenda Mishler, Member Benefits Manager. “We want to reward young women and men committed to improving their communities and the world beyond their communities.”

One student received a $2,000 scholarship, two received $1,000 scholarships and 38 others received $750 scholarships for the upcoming school year. For a complete list of scholarship recipients and their photos, visit scholarship recipients.
