Ben Frey, from Mount Joy, Pennsylvania, and is pursuing a Bachelor's degree in accounting at Millersville University. During the summer of 2017, he interned at the Everence® Federal Credit Union branch in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
What did you do during your internship?
I helped out with a variety of different things around the office. To start with, I helped move a bunch of files from a webpage into either ProDOC or one of their network location folders. After that, I went through business loan files on Idoc/Laserfiche, and found the NAICS number for the businesses to put into CU*BASE. Lastly, I went through loan files to find different ratios and amounts, and entered them into CU*BASE to help with the call report.
What did you like most about your internship?
I enjoyed the opportunity to meet and work with new people. All of them are very nice and made this internship very enjoyable.
What is the most valuable thing you've learned throughout your internship?
The most valuable thing that I learned is what working in a professional environment is like. As an accounting major, I expect to be working in a professional environment similar to the one here at Everence. Working here has given me insight into what to expect after graduation when I begin working in different places.
