Chandler Ingle, Goshen College '18
Financial Advising and Marketing Intern
Originally from Berne, Indiana, Chandler is a student at Goshen (Indiana) College, where he plays for the college's baseball team and is pursuing a Bachelor's degree in marketing with a minor in journalism. Chandler began his internship at the Everence® headquarters in Goshen during the fall of 2017.
What are you doing in your internship?
I am shadowing various financial advisors and helping with different marketing projects as needed. I have had the opportunity to sit in on client meetings and financial planning exercises with various Everence advisors. I've also helped individuals sign up for Medicare Part D plans. And, on the marketing side of things, I've assisted with a sales lead-generation project designed to encourage prospective clients to begin developing relationships with Everence advisors through a trial version of our Vine Vision 360 online software (powered by E-Money).
What have you liked most about your internship, so far?
I enjoy the friendly and caring company culture. I've been treated with respect and have already learned more than I could have imagined.
What is the most valuable thing you've learned throughout your internship?
I've learned the co-existence that is needed between faith and finances. I see a future career with Everence as a possible ministry tool to help others learn how to give generously while maintaining financial stability. Knowing how to have these difficult conversations is a valuable lesson I can carry into any aspect of my life.
