Tori Craw is from Goshen, Indiana, and will graduate with the Class of 2017 from Goshen College with a Bachelor's degree in business. Tori started interning at the Everence® headquarters in Goshen during the summer of 2017, and has continued her internship into the fall semester of the 2017-2018 academic year.
What are you doing in your internship?
To start with, I'm working on a digital marketing project for non-profit organizations, where I set them up with Google AdWord accounts and help them utilize their resulting $10,000 Google AdWords grant. This helps the organizations get more traffic to their website, spark more donations, recruit more volunteers, or simply raise awareness for the organization.
I also work on maintaining quality customer and member information, by looking at returned mail and trying to figure out why it was returned to Everence. I also help make sure our members' contact information is up-to-date in our system.
I also help the Human Resources department plan corporate events.
What have you liked most about your internship, so far?
I have enjoyed the opportunity to meet so many new people and establish more professional work relationships.
What is the most valuable thing you have learned throughout your internship?
I've learned that you have to accept that you don't know all the answers and you shouldn't expect there to be only one right answer. You should always use the resources available to you – for example, your coworkers, to help lead you to the answer you are looking for. Also, you may find an answer, but that doesn't mean the project is complete... lots of times there are always more tweaks you can make for continuous improvement.
