Stewardship advocates stepping up and speaking out
Everence resources can help people in their faith walks
A TV commercial from a clothing store that I saw when I was growing up in western New York has stuck with me.
The commercial said, “An educated consumer is our best customer.” I don’t know why, but for some reason this phrase has stayed in my memory.
It may be because rather than trying to dumb down the idea that we are all mindless consumers, it challenges people to look around and see if there is a better product and smarter purchase to be found.
Stewardship advocates have an opportunity to educate pastors, lay leaders and church attendees in congregations about the best available stewardship resources for use in your churches.
I truly believe Everence® resources can help your people in their faith walks, and help them become good stewards.
Maybe you’ve been highlighting stewardship resources the same way for many years, and shaking things up would get people’s attention.
How about asking for 5-10 minutes during a congregational meeting to highlight new resources that will be promoted in the next fall Everence leadership workshop?
If you have a Moment in Mission on Sunday morning, you could offer to discuss one or two resources that will help members see how your mission could expand into your community by hosting a Financial Coaching program for people in the community.
If you need help with shaping a presentation, check with your stewardship consultant. Some additional display materials highlighting popular small-group and retreat ideas for Sunday School classes might be of interest.

For all of your efforts in helping to get the word from our Everence team to your congregation – thank you! We are better together!
