Steve Lindsey named chair of Everence Board of Directors

Board also reaffirms incumbents

Steve Lindsey, CEO of Garden Spot Communities in New Holland, Pennsylvania, has been appointed by his peers to serve as chair of the Everence® Board of Directors. Lindsey joined the Everence Board on Jan. 1, 2023, and began his term as chair on Jan. 1, 2026He will lead the board along with 11 other directors.

 

Dr. Emerson Lesher, who had served as board chair since January 2020, has concluded his term in that role and continues to serve as a member of the Everence Board of Directors.

 

The Everence Board of Directors provides mission oversight to Everence and its fraternal benefits affiliate, Everence Association Inc., ensuring the organization remains focused on empowering financial well-being for faith-inspired living. Everence serves more than 77,000 members and clients and more than 30 church denominations nationwide.

As CEO of Garden Spot Communitiesa not-for-profit continuing care retirement community committed to Christian values and principles, Lindsey has a proven track record of innovation and new ideas. He has nearly 30 years of administrative experience in retirement community and rehabilitation hospital industries and was instrumental in developing the new Guidelines for Residential Health, Care and Support Settings. He serves on the board of directors for the Society of Gerontological Environments (SAGE) as well as on the editorial advisory board for Environments for Aging. In July 2019, Steve was identified by Senior Housing News as a Changemaker, one of the pioneers driving the future of senior living. He holds a Master of Social Work from Temple University and is a frequent speaker at national and international conferences.
