What is your background? (Hometown, schools, major, etc.)
I am from Marion, Ohio. I am attending Mount Vernon Nazarene University and will be graduating in 2026 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a minor in financial planning.
What is your role at Everence and where are you located?
My role at Everence is a financial planning intern. I am located at the corporate office in Goshen, Indiana.

I found Everence through my financial planning professor who strongly advocated for Everence, saying they offer arguably the best internships for this field.
What is your day to day like in your internship?
My day-to-day routine at Everence consisted of individual work as well as joining meetings with financial planners. My individual work was done during my free time between meetings. This work consisted of creating tax planning reports, creating insurance planning reports, assisting with data entry into client profiles, and other tasks assigned to me. The meetings were usually one hour long each, and during these meetings I would listen and take notes, as well as occasionally ask questions and offer my own input.
What is something valuable you've learned through your internship?
One thing that I learned and believe to be incredibly valuable is the process by which the planners approach a client and their financial situation. Every client is unique, and so is every planner, but each planner has a system they use to help the clients as efficiently as they can.
What is something you like to do on the weekends?
One thing I enjoy doing on the weekends is playing golf, usually with my dad.
What is your favorite local restaurant?
My favorite local restaurant would have to be El Patron in Goshen, Indiana.
What advice do you have for future interns at Everence?
My advice would have to be to take notes. As many notes as you can. It will be so valuable to you in the future to be able to reference your notes that you took during this internship. In meetings, out of meetings, taking notes will be your best friend.
