Pastoral Financial Wellness Program

As a pastor, you give so much of your time and talents, often with lean resources and significant financial challenges. And these challenges, if left unsaid, can impair and hinder your ability to lead your congregation and fulfill your calling to the ministry. That's why we offer a special financial wellness program for pastors, to help you walk confidently on your financial stewardship journey.
Walking With You

Confidence for the journey ahead

Pastors face some unique and often challenging financial circumstances – from debt reduction to retirement readiness – that can put stress on your personal and ministerial health and wholeness. That's why Everence® offers ways to help you address your financial needs and goals – because when our pastors are healthy, our congregations also benefit.

Grants, subsidies and resources

Take your next step

The Everence Pastoral Financial Wellness Program is funded, in part, by generous support from the Lilly Endowment Inc. Credentialed and active pastors from any of our affiliated churches may participate in any – or all – of the following ways:

Calculator and computer

Financial assistance grants

Grants are available to address the unique financial challenges that many pastors face – particularly those pastors who are experiencing critical need, serving under-resourced communities, and/or are impacted disproportionately by COVID-19 pandemic economic hardships1.
Laptop and notebook

Financial education events

Everence offers educational events for pastors and their spouses on topics such as preparing for retirement, clergy taxes, debt reduction, cultivating generous congregations and more. Contact your conference or district minister/overseer or Everence stewardship consultant about upcoming events.

Financial planning subsidies

Pastors can receive a $1,000 subsidy2 to develop a financial plan that incorporates your faith and values, to find financial relief and a path to meet your short- and long-term financial goals. Pastors are asked to contribute a $200 or $500 co-pay (depending on the plan type), which churches, conferences/districts, and denominations may assist to pay.

Since our [Hispanic] congregation is so small, they don't have the means to pay me. Our student loan is under an income-based repayment plan because we can't make payments on it at this time. [The financial assistance grant] helped pay down that loan, and we're able to manage those payments better.
