Everence celebrates 80 years of impact with 80 acts of service

In celebration of its 80th anniversary, Everence® employees surpassed their 2025 goal of achieving 80 acts of service – reaching the milestone months ahead of schedule in July.

Launched in January 2025, the Everence-wide initiative honors the organization’s founding in 1945 and its enduring values of stewardship, generosity, and faith-inspired action. With some 400 employees nationwide, Everence is using its 80th anniversary as a meaningful opportunity to give back to the communities it serves.

"These acts of service capture the spirit of our values; service rooted in faith and generosity expressed in action,” said Ken Hochstetler, Everence President and CEO. “Reaching our goal of 80 acts of service is more than a benchmark; it's a reminder of how mutual support and shared purpose connect our people and communities."

By the numbers (as of Aug. 1): 100+ acts of service 1,750+ total hours volunteered 350+ employees who have volunteered 77 organizations served 5,000+ Relief kits packed for Mennonite Central Committee (MCC).

Throughout the year, Everence teams and individuals have supported a wide range of community needs, such as packing or serving meals, mentoring students, and landscaping and clean-up.

In an April all-employee event that spanned six states, more than 350 Everence staff packaged 4,200 relief kits for Mennonite Central Committee in one day. These kits – filled with education or hygiene essentials – provide valuable supplies to families whose lives have been disrupted by conflict or disaster around the world.

Though the goal of completing 80 acts of service has been met, Everence teams are already looking ahead to future opportunities to serve, turning a one-year celebration into a lasting culture of generosity.

Whether through its grants, charitable giving, scholarships, educational programs, community investing, or hands-on volunteering, Everence continues to walk alongside its members and communities in practical, faith-inspired ways.
