2025 marks 80 years of Everence®, and to celebrate, we’re embarking on a company-wide initiative to conduct more than 80 acts of service throughout the year.

Our employees are embracing the spirit of service in 2025

Everence employee, Luke Shyposki, serves at Middlebury, IN food drop

Here are just a few examples of the ways our team has been giving back:

  • Put together school kits, prepped packaging materials for shipments, sorted donated books, helped sew quilts and comforters, and more at MCC Resource Center for global aid projects.
  • Helped FFA students prep for their state competition interviews on accounting and participated in the Capital Campaign Committee for Pettisville Local Schools, raising funds for library updates, STEAM initiatives, and outdoor sports facilities.
  • Participated in multiple meal packing campaigns with Feed My Starving Children, Project 216, and Middlebury Community Food Pantry, helping assemble and distribute meals for those in need locally and internationally.
  • Volunteered at ECHOS emergency shelter, including setting up, serving, cleaning up dinner, and sanitizing tables.
  • Assisted with the Wakarusa Chamber of Commerce Banquet Dinner, including setup, event activities, and cleanup.
  • Shoveled snow for an elderly widowed neighbor and tutored a neighbor in math and reading.
  • Planned pastor events and participated in Church Goal Planning Committee for missions visioning at North Clinton Church.

Throughout 2025, we will continue to share our stories of making a difference. Through each act of service, our employees are spreading kindness, building stronger communities, and showing that even small efforts can have a big impact.

As part of our 80 Acts of Service, the Everence® Senior Leadership Team volunteered at Maple City Health Care Center in Goshen, helping beautify two locations. The afternoon strengthened our shared commitment to community health and partnership. It was a meaningful way to serve and celebrate our ongoing impact together.

Supporting MCC through quilt donations

Diana Voth, Vice President of Member Engagement and Impact at Everence Federal Credit Union, recently joined the committee coordinating quilt donations for the Pennsylvania Relief Sale, which raises funds for Mennonite Central Committee. The committee’s first task was to document and photograph all the quilts to create an online auction page, allowing people to place bids while the live auction takes place in April.

Volunteering at Faith Mission

A group from the Everence Marketing team spent the morning volunteering with Faith Mission, sorting, packing, and moving seven tons of canned food donated by a local school. Faith Mission of Michiana is a Christian social service agency in Elkhart, Indiana, that provides food, shelter, clothing, and other services to homeless individuals.

Staff Volunteer Day at MCC Material Resources Center

On Feb. 17, 38 staff members volunteered at the MCC Material Resources Center in Ephrata, Pennsylvania, as part of our All-Day Staff Training. Volunteers participated in a variety of tasks, including checking canned meat, working on book recycling, tying comforters, assembling dignity kit items, and hand quilting – all in support of the Mennonite Central Committee's ministries.

Kari Cullen, compliance manager, volunteered her time to answer telephones during a pledge night at WPSU. Kari assisted listeners by taking pledges, helping support the station's fundraising efforts. Her involvement contributed to the success of the event, providing valuable support for WPSU's programming and community outreach.

Sarah Jones, Client Services Representative, and Elyse Kauffman, Charitable Consultant, had the privilege of assisting with fun activities for the residents of Country Meadows Retirement Community. They spent quality time chatting with the residents, playing Words in a Word, and helping with a lively game of Bingo. Their participation brought joy and connection to the community, making the day special for everyone involved.

Packing meals for Feed My Starving Children

Caleb Chupp, intern in Harrisonburg, Virginia, volunteered at a Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) event, partnering with Tacos 4 Life. During the event, Caleb helped assemble and pack over 6,000 dehydrated meals, contributing to the organization’s mission of providing nutritious meals to children in need around the world.

Volunteering at Pettisville Local Schools – Amazing Shake

Shari Beck, Financial Consultant, and Brandon Taylor, Financial Representative, volunteered at Pettisville Local Schools for the Amazing Shake competition. The Amazing Shake is designed to develop professional skills in the next generation of leaders, and this year marked Pettisville’s first participation. Around 80 students competed in 18 stations within the "Amazing Shake Gauntlet." Brandon and Shari hosted the "Drop the Mic" Birds Eye View Podcast, where students introduced themselves and had 90 seconds to defend a stance on a hot-topic podcast subject.

Financial Reality Fair at Phoenix Academy

Everence Federal Credit Union staff, along with other staff from local credit unions, participated in a Financial Reality Fair at Phoenix Academy in Lancaster City, Pennsylvania. The volunteers engaged with approximately 120 juniors and seniors, guiding them through valuable lessons about budgeting, finances, and real-life decision-making. The hands-on, interactive experience helped students gain practical knowledge that will aid them in their future financial decisions.
