H James Smith

H James Smith serves as a Financial Representative with the Everence® Customer Engagement Team. Jim helps individuals nationwide understand the complexities of Medicare and Medicare supplement insurance.

Jim and his wife, Phyllis, live in Goshen, Indiana, and are members of Pleasant View Church. They are originally from Central Illinois, where Jim served as lead pastor of the Hopedale Mennonite Church for 16 years prior to coming to Everence.

In December 2000, Jim was involved in an automobile accident that left him with quadriplegic physical limitations. Because of this injury, Jim and his wife have felt God’s leading to spend much of their spare time providing leadership and volunteering for Anabaptist Disabilities Network, an organization that provides resources to those who have been impacted by disabilities.

Jim earned a Master of Divinity Degree from Eastern Mennonite Seminary in Harrisonburg, Virginia, and professional certifications by Life Office Management Association. He also earned the Distinguished Toastmaster designation from Toastmaster’s International, and has served on boards of several Anabaptist-related organizations.
