On May 12, 2018, the Everence® team in Central Penn grabbed their work gloves and trash bags to join others in the community as part of Go Beyond, a week of service designed to engage and unite community members.
A group from Everence volunteered to help with Go Beyond’s Citywide Cleanup, tidying up the streets and alleys of a roughly 22-block area in Lancaster city.
“Our group of 38 Everence volunteers joined 52 other community members to clean up our assigned zone,” explained Sherri Mellinger, Everence Administrative Assistant. “We finished in about two hours, and our zone looked amazing when we left it!”
The day also included a celebration rally, free lunch and a fun fair for the kids.
Participating in Go Beyond was a valuable opportunity for the Everence team in Central Penn to put their faith and values into action.
“The spirit of service is at the foundation of Everence as an organization, as well as our employees and members,” said Doug Umble, REBC, Everence Managing Director. “We want to make a lasting and positive impact on our community.”
