The community of Northwest Ohio came together Tuesday, Dec. 3, to celebrate #GivingTuesdayNWO, and their generosity generated over $1.9 million in donations to nonprofits across the country.
“I am humbled by the feeling of joy coming away from this year’s Giving Tuesday event,” said Shari Beck, Everence® Financial Consultant and host of #GivingTuesdayNWO. “With over $1.9 million in gifts raised to impact our community, the best it yet to come.”
The event featured 10 local nonprofits including Archbold Fish Pantry, Black Swamp Arts Council, Buckeye Border Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Care & Share Thrift and Gift, Compassion Medical Clinic, CPC Women’s Health Resource, Defiance Dream Center, Growing Hope Farm, It All Matters and Stand for Truth.
Gifts had to be made to any 501(c)(3) to receive part of the $500,000 in matching dollars made available by local businesses and individuals. This event, held at Founder’s Hall at Sauder Village, was coordinated by Everence as a way to encourage generosity – an Everence core value.
Last year, #GivingTuesdayNWO generated $1.6 million for local nonprofits.
