Area students receive Everence Financial scholarships

Several students from Northeast Ohio received $1,000 Everence Financial® scholarships to pursue their college degrees

Local recipients are:

  • Jacob Hanzie of Creston, who attends Mount Vernon Nazarene University, Mount Vernon, Ohio.
  • Joel Kornhaus of Fredericksburg, who attends Eastern Mennonite University, Harrisonburg, Virginia.
  • Kara Kornhaus of Fredericksburg, who attends Eastern Mennonite University, Harrisonburg, Virginia.
  • Alyssa Nolt of Dalton, who attends Eastern Mennonite University, Harrisonburg, Virginia.
  • Abigail Ryan of Canton, who attends Cedarville University, Cedarville, Ohio.

Everence awarded 45 college scholarships for the 2022-2023 academic year. The scholarship program encourages students to explore the integration of faith and finances while helping them on their educational journeys.

Recipients were chosen based on participation and leadership in school-related and community activities, along with responses to an essay question.

“Everence recognizes these students for their academic achievements, as well as their service to their communities,” said Kenda Mishler, Member Benefits Manager.
