Everence converts to new LED lighting at corporate headquarters

Transition is another step in the organization's commitment to environmental stewardship

Everence corporate headquarters in Goshen, Indiana

GOSHEN, Indiana – Everence® Financial has completed an extensive energy efficient LED lighting retrofit initiative at its corporate headquarters, 1110 North Main Street in Goshen, Indiana.

The new LED fixtures replace traditional high-intensity discharge and fluorescent lights and will reduce the office’s lighting electricity usage by a projected 59% per year, resulting in significant cost savings and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.

“This conversion was a major undertaking for Everence,” said Leigh-Ann Piasecki, Facilities Director at Everence. “The decision to move forward was based on a thorough assessment of our current lighting and electricity usage, LED lighting quality and cost, overall maintenance savings and our commitment to corporate social and environmental responsibility.”

The retrofit project managed by Foresight, installed by Hoekstra Electrical, occurred over the course of a month, from September to October 2019. The 40-year-old Everence corporate office spans 85,000 square feet and includes several additions and renovations. Its most recent 2009 renovation was awarded LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council, making Everence the first LEED-certified building in the city of Goshen.

“Part of being a responsible steward begins at home, by using our own resources as efficiently as possible,” said Ken Hochstetler, Everence President and CEO. “Converting our lighting to LED is another step Everence can take to care for the world we need and want, for ourselves and future generations.”
