Church of God congregations receive hurricane relief grants
Among those receiving assistance were congregations in Bradenton and Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Hurricane relief grants from Everence® are helping people in the southern United States and Puerto Rico whose properties were damaged by Hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria in 2017.
Among those receiving assistance are members of Church of God congregations in Bradenton and Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
A member of First Church of God of Bradenton received a grant to help with electrical service repairs at her home related to Hurricane Irma, which battered much of Florida in September. And four members of Community Church of God, Fort Lauderdale, received grants to help with roof damage, ruined appliances and other repairs needed because of strong winds, lightning and heavy rainfall.
Everence is providing $50,000 in hurricane relief grants to congregations in Florida, Texas and Puerto Rico so those congregations can help their members and others who attend their services. The maximum for each congregation is $500.
The hurricane relief grants are a provisional program of the Everence Sharing Fund, which helps thousands of families every year through matching grants to congregations. Everyone who buys an Everence product becomes part of a community providing financial support to people in need through the Sharing Fund. Any member of an Ohio Church of God congregation is now eligible to join Everence.
To receive a Sharing Fund grant, a representative from an Everence member congregation, regional chapter or employer submits a grant application on behalf of the intended recipient or organization. In most cases, Everence gives Sharing Fund grants as matching funds for money contributed by these eligible groups. More information is available at everence.com/sharing-fund.
