New Spanish-language website launched, complementing recent staff appointment

A new Spanish-language website offers foundational information about Everence at everence.com/espanol and everence.com/spanish.

Designed to provide an overview of what Everence offers its members, the website also includes contact information for Spanish-speaking staff available to answer questions about Everence products and services.

“Reaching out to the Spanish-speaking churches and individuals is important to us,” said Ken Hochstetler, President and CEO of Everence. “It gives Everence the opportunity to meet people in the language they’re most comfortable. Finances can be hard to understand in any language, so we are breaking down as many barriers as possible.”

The website translation project is part of a broader plan for Everence to better serve Spanish-speaking audiences. In March, Everence hired Martin Navarro, Church Relations Representative, to develop relationships with people and communities whose primary language is Spanish. Martin, who is bilingual, meets with pastors, Everence advocates, small groups, individuals and families to talk with them about their financial stewardship journeys.

“My role gives me a unique chance to support people,” said Martin. “It’s nice to find solutions or just offer people the information they’re looking for about their finances.”

Recently, Martin helped a couple determine if they could afford to move closer to their son. During their financial review, Martin noticed they had a loan with an extremely high interest rate, which was causing the couple some financial distress. Martin connected them with Everence Federal Credit Union and helped them reduce their interest rate by almost one-fifth by refinancing their loan.

“No matter what language you speak, it’s often helpful to have a trained professional take a look at your finances and offer insight into what you could do,” said Martin.

Everence helps individuals, organizations and congregations integrate finances with faith through a national team of advisors and representatives. Everence offers banking, insurance and financial services with community benefits and stewardship education. Everence is a ministry of Mennonite Church USA and other churches.
