I'm from a small town in Indiana close to South Bend. I'm studying at Indiana University South Bend as an incoming senior.
What is your role at Everence?
Actuarial Intern at Goshen Headquarters
What is your day to day like in your internship?
I work with my supervisor Jeff Claassen, find my list of tasks for the day or week, deal with monthly reports, update databases and spreadsheets, attend meetings with the Actuarial department, and convert Keymark to ESI.
What have you enjoyed the most so far?
I’ve enjoyed learning about the responsibilities of actuaries and different directions that the job can take you into and how excel sheets and databases can make life simpler.
How did you find Everence?
I found Everence through Handshake at my school.
What do you like to do outside of the internship?
Outside of Everence I often am hiking, taking summer classes, studying for SOA exam, and spending time with friends and family.
What’s your favorite thing to do in your area?
I really like to hike at Potato Creek State Park.
Do you have advice for future interns at Everence?
Come with an open mind, and don’t be afraid to ask questions.
