My hometown is Shuo Zhou, China. I’m currently studying Finance at Messiah University. I went to high school in a little town called Sioux Center in Iowa.

What is your role at Everence?

Financial Planning Intern at Mt. Joy Office

What is your day to day like in your internship?

A normal workday for me is coming in at 8:30am, checking my emails, sitting in on Shawn Persing and Barry Stoltzfus’s meetings with different financial planners from various offices over Zoom, working on projects and tasks through eMoney, and sitting in on in-person client meetings at the Mt. Joy office.

What have you enjoyed the most so far?

I have really enjoyed learning new concept and knowledge about financial planning and getting to know the Everence employees so far.

How did you find Everence?

I heard about Everence from a professor at Messiah University.

What do you like to do outside of the internship?

I like to stay active by working out, playing basketball, hiking, as well as watching movies.

What’s your favorite thing to do in your area?

In central Pennsylvania, I really enjoy spending time at coffee shops. There are many nice little ones in my area, so I’m typically there reading, working, or hanging out with friends.

Do you have advice for future interns at Everence?

My advice is to not be afraid of asking questions and making mistakes. Being an intern is an important process of learning, so ask your questions and try your best to perform well.
