I’m from a small town in Pennsylvania and I go to Mount Vernon Nazarene University.
What is your role at Everence?
Financial Planning Intern at Goshen Headquarters
What is your day to day like in your internship?
My day starts by entering the Goshen office where I look at my schedule for the day. I work with taking tax returns from a system called eMoney and enter them into a different tax reporting system, as well as different meetings with Shawn Persing and Barry Stoltzfus.
What have you enjoyed the most so far?
I enjoy sitting in on the different meetings with various financial planners and learning more about the world I want to enter.
How did you find Everence?
I found Everence through a financial planning class at Mount Vernon Nazarene University where the professor has close relations to my now supervisor Shawn.
What do you like to do outside of the internship?
After coming to the area for the internship I have recently joined Nappanee Missionary Church and have been joining in on the community on Tuesday’s and a volleyball team.
What’s your favorite thing to do in your area?
In Pennsylvania, I like hanging out with high school friends, playing basketball, and watching movies.
Do you have advice for future interns at Everence?
Don’t be afraid of talking to anyone, as the community here is so welcoming and open so embrace it.
