Annual Youth Savings Celebration Event at Everence Federal Credit Union

Encourages kids and teens to “Be a Star Saver”

You can help the child or teen in your life “Be a Star Saver” and master the skills to make good financial decisions.

Everence® Federal Credit Union is hosting its annual Youth Savings Celebration August 7-9. The three-day event aims to help educate kids as they start their financial journeys and help them save for the future.

Everence offers a youth savings account with a 5.00% APY1 interest rate, making it a great rate to reward savings. Additionally, when a child or teen makes a deposit of $15 or more into a new or existing youth savings account during Youth Savings Celebration, Everence will deposit an additional $5 into their account.2 For new youth memberships, Everence will deposit their initial $5.3

Kristen Heisey, President and CEO of Everence Federal Credit Union, is eagerly anticipating the celebration.

“We are excited to host our Youth Savings Celebration to highlight the importance of savings and to teach our younger generations about the importance of financial wellness,” she said. “It is never too early to help our kids learn the importance of saving, spending, and sharing their financial resources. Everence is excited to be part of that learning process.”

Parents and grandparents are encouraged to bring their children to join in on the celebration, as Everence teaches them to “Be a Star Saver.” Not only will kids have the chance to take advantage of a great savings opportunity, but they can also participate in out-of-this-world activities, creating crafts, enjoying snacks, and more!

Families are also invited to attend an evening event August 8, 5-7 p.m. During this event we will have special space-themed crafts, experiments, activities, and snacks. The branches will also offer an educational teen activity.

Accounts can be opened, and deposits can be made online, by mail or through a lobby transaction at an Everence Federal Credit Union location.

This year we are launching our new Youth Rewards Program from August 2024 through July 2025. Kids and teens can earn points for achievements like having good grades, volunteering, and opening a Youth Savings Account. They can pick up a Points Tracker at an Everence Federal Credit Union location or download it online. Participants can redeem their points for cool prizes between May and July 2025.

“The staff and I are excited to welcome our youngest members for Youth Savings Celebration,” Caitlyn Laubach, Vice President of Credit Union Member Services, said. “Cultivating good financial habits now can help kids achieve their goals later in life, and we are happy to be a part in getting them started on this journey.”
