Aaron Chenoweth of Mishawaka, Indiana, will graduate from Olivet Nazarene University with the class of 2020 with a bachelor’s degree in finance. Aaron started interning at the Everence® headquarters in Goshen during the summer of 2018.
What did you do in your internship?
I worked in eMoney building financial plans, as well as meeting with advisors to help prepare them for client meetings and learn about what they do.
One of my major projects was to interview all the advisors to learn about what they do, as well as assess areas of improvement for the financial planning program at Everence. I have been given the opportunity to go to a financial planning retreat in Pittsburgh in September, where I will present my findings from the interviews.
What did you like the most about your internship?
I enjoyed learning about different things I didn’t know much about before. This was my first internship, and Everence gave me the opportunity to be exposed to the professional business world for the first time this summer.
What is the most valuable thing you’ve learned throughout your internship?
The most valuable thing I’ve learned throughout this internship is what an advisor’s job duties are and how they do them. I now have a broader understanding of how advisors are compensated and where the industry is heading.
